6th edition of Entrepreneur India brings together insights from the world of new players in the biz
This platform brings together the inspiring entrepreneurs and investors for creating new opportunities for investment, breakthrough ideas, innovations and insight, build new partnerships and collaboration avenues.

Entrepreneur India 2016, in its 6th Annual edition, was held on 23 and 24 August, 2016 at Hotel Pullman, New Delhi. This platform brings together the inspiring entrepreneurs and investors for creating new opportunities for investment, breakthrough ideas, innovations and insight, build new partnerships and collaboration avenues.

After lighting the lamp, Ritu Marya, Editor-in-Chief, Entrepreneur Media, India said, “How to become a successful entrepreneur? Don’t run after the money, let the money come to you. Entrepreneur should change the world approach, the person himself has to be the biggest critic, creativity, need to love the customers, unjugaad and be competitive.”

Rajesh Mehta, Chairman, Rajesh Exports said, “As the jewellery industry is unorganised, there is a huge opportunity to make it organised.” On the same lines, Priyank Kharge, Minister of state for IT & BT and tourism, Government of Karnataka, stated, “Government is approachable for the startups and we have also started a startup cell.”

The next session was on capital city that is getting funded in 2016. The key speakers were Deepak Gaur, partner, SAIF Partners, Prashant Praksh, partner, Accel partners, India, Peeyush Bansal, Founder & CEO, Lenskart, David Gowdey, Managing Partner, Jungle Venture and Nitish Mittersain, Founder & Managing Director, Nazara technologies Pvt ltd. In this session, Bansal spoke about the franchising model as this model has worked for him. He said, “Getting the right people and talent is the key and I actually found great partners and ventures to partner with.”

A presentation on building enterprise growth through technology was given by Ashish Arora, CEO, Airtel Business. The fourth session was on driving in the scale up mode. The eminent speakers were Sandeep Aggarwal, Founder, Shopclues & Droom, Sandeep Murthy, partner, Lightbox ventures and Mohit Dubey, Co-Founder & CEO, CarWale.com.

Startup Kickoff took place simultaneously with the sessions, where startups came and pitched their business plans to investors/ VCs/accelerators and got a chance to get featured in Entrepreneur magazine.

Post lunch, there were sessions on retail investors v/s institutional investors - which works best for the business. The next session was on building business with public money. After that, there was a presentation on the power of influence.

The speakers at ‘People, process and partnership in new age enterprise’ session were Rajesh Sawhey, Co-Founder Inner chef, Sandeep Sinha, Cofounder & Managing Partner, Lumis partners and Raghav Gupta, India Country Head, BLA Car India. And the last session was on Mahatmas of entrepreneurs- Antar Prena, which was given by Prof Prag Shah.

After these informative sessions, there was an award ceremony at night for the new and recognised entrepreneurs who made a difference.

On the second day, there were five summits which included society summit, future consumer summit, urban summit, tech summit. Within these summits, there were demo zones, experiential exhibitions, media interactions and opportunities to connect with industry thought leaders and mentors.
