BPCL, Trinity Cleantech Join Hands To Set Up DC Fast Chargers For EVs In UP
With over 800 EV charging stations nationwide, TCPL will handle demand generation, customer complaint management, and the operations and maintenance of the fast chargers.

Bharat Petroleum and Trinity Cleantech have joined forces to establish dedicated DC fast-charging points for two-and three-wheelers in Uttar Pradesh. The partnership, spanning three years and extendable for additional two years upon mutual agreement, aims to focus on cities such as Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Noida, Saharanpur, and Agra to set up DC Fast Charging Stations at BPCL outlets in the state.

Rahul Tandon, Chief General Manager (Marketing) Retail at BPCL, stated, "BPCL has always been at the forefront of providing all forms of energy solutions for personal and commercial mobility to our esteemed customers. We have entered the exciting phase of energy transition towards clean energy, and this partnership is an important step forward in driving the adoption of electric vehicles in the e-two-and three-wheelers segment in Uttar Pradesh. The pooling of resources in the public and private sectors to create necessary infrastructure is a great way to promote electric mobility."

Aiming Major Cities

According to the agreement, TCPL will be responsible for establishing the EV fast-charging stations at BPCL Retail Outlets, adhering to BPCL standards and Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) norms for civil and electrical work. The DC fast chargers will be co-branded and installed in BPCL outlets across major cities in Uttar Pradesh.

With over 800 EV charging stations nationwide, TCPL will handle demand generation, customer complaint management, and the operations and maintenance of the fast chargers.

Boosting EV Adoption

TCPL Chief Executive Officer Rajkumar Medimi said, "This is a milestone for Trinity Cleantech as we get access to BPCL’s wide network of petrol pumps across the country. This will help us set up DC fast charging stations, which will not only give confidence to the industry but will also make life convenient for existing e-two and three-wheeler owners. We are hoping that this partnership will give the necessary fillip to boost EV adoption as well as help fight vehicular pollution and ease the environmental conditions."

Earlier, PMI Electro Mobility deployed 50 electric buses in Uttar Pradesh, earmarked for service in Ayodhya. These e-buses are designated to operate within the city limits with an aim to provide sustainable and comfortable public transport options for local citizens, pilgrims, and visiting dignitaries, aligning with Ayodhya's green transport mission to combat air pollution.
