Delhi Government Offers CM's Fellowship Programme for Young Leaders of India
According to a recent study, only 34 per cent of India's 5 million graduates are employable in any industry.

The Delhi government has announced Chief Minister’s Urban Leaders Fellowship Programme to attract young leaders from across the country and to give an opportunity to work with Ministers or Senior Officials of Education, Health, Water, Environment, Transport, etc.

According to a recent study, only 34 per cent of India's 5 million graduates are employable in any industry.

The challenge is to provide vocational training to almost 500 million people by 2022, which is why the Delhi government is doing its bits in forming an army of 30 young leaders through this Fellowship Programme.

The Motive of the Fellowship

Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, said, “Delhi government has received global acclaims for its policies, be it transformation of government schools, the introduction of Happiness curriculum in schools, provision of high-quality primary healthcare at mohalla clinics, 24X7 electricity provided at lowest tariff in India and home delivery of government services.”

The young leaders will get to work closely with the ministries and learn how to make strong and effective policies in various fields and how to execute them for better results.

Who can Apply

The official announcement states, “Experience what 'making change happen' look like. The programme aims to attract youth who are ‘passionate about public service and are willing to work for two years’.”

The young graduates with certain years of work experience will be eligible to apply for the Fellowship Programme. It is an opportunity for the Delhi government to produce some young leaders, who will actively work towards making the better future of Delhi.
