Ex-Infosys executive Sangita Singh becomes IBM's cloud consulting GM

Sangita Singh, former Infosys executive vice-president, has joined American IT services major IBM. A veteran in the Indian IT services industry, Singh was spearheading healthcare and life sciences vertical at Infosys and was the chief executive of the healthcare and life sciences business unit at cross-town rival Wipro for five years.

“Sangita Singh has joined IBM Global Business Services (GBS) as general manager, cloud consulting services. She will report to John Granger, general manager, GBS Cloud Application Innovation Consulting,” said an IBM spokesperson. She will be responsible for helping IBM’s clients boost their Cloud computing journey and “forge greater ties” with the global industry.

Singh will initially operate from Bengaluru. She spearheaded nearly $1-billion business units at varied functions across Infosys and Wipro in the past. Singh, however, declined to comment on this. Multi-national technology firms such as IBM, Dell, GlobalLogic and others have in the past brought in talent from Indian IT service providers.

Suresh Vaswani, who was the Joint CEO of Wipro's IT business and helped build Dell’s IT services arm, is now leading IBM's global technology services delivery as a general manager. Vaswani oversaw Dell’s technology services business until it was sold to Japanese company NTT Data. Nitesh Banga, former senior vice-president and global head of manufacturing and Edge products, Infosys, became the COO of GlobalLogic last month.
