How Apple Is Building Career By Offering “Free Coding Lessons”
Apple is going to offer new resources to open thousands of free "Hour of Code" sessions at its Apple Store facilities across the world.

In today’s digital world, where we are surrounded by technology throughout, it is hard to imagine life without software usage. Coding is the fundamental part of this process. In our rapidly changing world, coding is the ‘new literacy’—a subject so important that every child needs to know the basics to excel.

To bring coding education to students, Apple is going to offer new resources to open thousands of free "Hour of Code" sessions at its Apple Store facilities across the world.

These sessions will provide opportunities for aspiring coders at a variety of skill levels to learn coding. The sessions are part of Apple's several programmes being unveiled to help more people learn coding skills both inside and outside the classroom

Special Coding Session For Things

Apple has also organised Kids Hour sessions. These sessions will help aspiring young coders aged six to 12 explore coding with robots, while those aged 12 and above can attend sessions using Swift Playgrounds and iPad to learn coding concepts.

Coding Outside The Classrooms

To teach coding outside the classroom, Apple has also introduced Swift Coding Club materials. The material will give teachers, students and club mentors the tools they need to start their own coding clubs. Swift is Apple’s easy-to-learn programming language used by professional developers to create world-class apps.

The new kit gives the student the ability to collaborate, prototype apps and explore how coding can make a difference in their communities using fun activities from Swift Playgrounds and App Development with Swift.

Building a Skilled Workforce

The App Development with Swift curriculum gives students of high school and college students the opportunity to attain critical skills they need to qualify for high-demand and high-skill jobs.

Apple is also planning to launch a free AP Computer Science Principles course syllabus and curriculum, giving high school students the opportunity to earn Advanced Placement (AP) credit for learning App Development with Swift. Students will also earn a certificate fro the same which will be recognized worldwide.

A Win-Win Situation

With these free coding sessions, Apple is encouraging children towards coding for a better future. The program helps the stores give something back to the local community, and at the same time could spark a child’s interest in programming in a way that might lead to a lifelong career.
