How HealthifyMe is Expanding Its Footprints Overseas
India is the second largest market globally for investments in fitness tech startups, bagging $63 million in 2016-17.

HealthifyMe, an Indian digital weight loss platform that provides fitness services, is on an expansion spree. The Bengaluru based start-up is eyeing overseas geographic expansion. As a part of their expansion plan, HealthifyMe has forayed into Malaysia to offer its services including diet and fitness plans. The health tech start-up will also expand its services across southeast Asia to Singapore, Indonesia and will also enter the Gulf region over the next quarters.

Customised Services for Southeast

The company has launched its services in Malaysia and has also hired a team of nutritionists and fitness coaches to develop personalised diet and fitness plans for its Southeast Asian users.

Tushar Vashisht, HealthifyMe co-founder and Chief Executive, said, "Our foray into Southeast Asia is an effort to offer a local and curated experience to users there, providing the same level in terms of quality of coaches and technology support our users in India enjoy. We will enter more markets soon."

Curated Food Marketplace

HealthifyMe has also announced the expansion of its platform with the launch of its curated online foods marketplace, EatBetter. The marketplace specializes in 100% healthy, wholesome food products. It also offers a wide product catalogue curated by HealthifyMe’s team of elite nutritionists and is intended to handhold users through their weight loss and fitness journeys.

The platform lets users track their calorie intake by maintaining a digital log and also offers fitness and nutrition coaching from professionals.

Artificial Intelligence

HealthifyMe also unveiled the new avatar of Ria, its artificial intelligence (AI) powered virtual nutritionist. Ria 2.0 can now see & identify healthy & unhealthy foods from menu cards, phone screens and entire plates of food; offering dietary and fitness suggestions to stay healthy.

The company, with the use of Ria, also announced the launch of smart diet plans. The company claims that it would be “the world’s first completely automated & curated diet plans.”
