Malaysia’s Tea brand Tealive ventures into India, Plans 140 Stores in 5 years
WIB is a specialist franchise development company in India, which has secured master franchisee rights to open 140 stores in three cities in India within next five years.

Loob Holding Sdn Bhd, the creator of Malaysia’s Tealive bubble tea brand has collaborated with World Iconic Brands Hospitality Pvt Ltd (WIB). WIB is a specialist franchise development company in India, which has secured master franchisee rights to open 140 stores in three cities in India within next five years. The Tealive will open up outlets in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

Bryan Loo, CEO, Loob Holding signed an agreement of Master Franchise Rights given to WIB to expand Tealive in the Metro cities of India, like Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bangalore. At the event, WIB was represented by its founder Mr. Gaurav Marya, who is also the chairman of Franchise India, Asia’s largest integrated franchise solutions company. Franchise India owns majority stakes in WIB.

In recounting the brand journey of Tealive, Loo said “Tealive is a home-grown brand “Born in Malaysia, Raised for the World”.  In Malaysia, we serve 2.5 million consumers each month in our 175 outlets. India being a Tea loving country, we see a huge potential for our product. We are happy to seal this partnership with WIB to be the first Malaysian bubble tea brand to enter the Indian market. We could not have chosen a better partner, as WIB is owned by Franchise India, which has a proven record of over 2 decades in the business.”

Mr. Gaurav Marya said “As per Indian Tea Association, the total production of tea in 2016 was 1,267 million kg, and the industry estimated output of 1,280 million kg in 2017. I believe, Tealive presents a huge opportunity in the country where people relate to the concept in a big way. Tealive is an ideal partner to introduce a modern tea-culture to India, which itself has a long tradition of enjoying tea.

Also present at the event were officials from Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) and the Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. Other than Malaysia, Tealive is operating 5 stores in Vietnam as well.
