Strong domestic and foreign tourist growth has boosted Nepal’s hospitality industry, inspiring hotels and lodges to go on an expansion spree.

The world's largest hotel brand chains have been expanding in Nepal, reflecting increased investor confidence in the hospitality sector. Strong domestic and foreign tourist growth has boosted Nepal’s hospitality industry, inspiring international hotels and lodges to go on an expansion spree.

Recently, The Fern Hotels & Resorts, India's leading environmentally sensitive hotel chain, has expanded its network in Nepal by launching its second property in the country, under The Fern Residency Brand. The Fern Residency, Bharatpur is a 48 keys hotel providing contemporary accommodations, a multi-cuisine restaurant, rooftop poolside bar offering pan Asian food, state-of-art banquet halls and a swimming pool.

Suhail Kannampilly, CEO of The Fern Hotels & Resorts, said, “It is a moment of great satisfaction and pride for us. Our Fern brand has been well received in Kathmandu and that has given us the confidence to open the second property. The property will operate as an eco-sensitive hotel, offering guests a central location at great value, for their corporate and leisure stays.”  

Similarly, Aloft Hotels, a part of Marriott International recently, has announced the introduction of its first hotel in Nepal, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel. The hotel will be managed by India’s most trusted hospitality management company, Shanti Hospitality Management Services (SHMS).

Scheduled to launch in the next month, the hotel will have 167 keys and one full-fledged fine-dining restaurant along with a 24*7 all-day dining restaurant.
