Next Generation Entrepreneurs Are Fundamentally Rethinking Education: Pooja Goyal
There has been a big change in the education during the last few years. Especially during pandemic, a new dimension of online education was also added to it, which has made access to higher education very easy in remote areas. Major issues including changes happening in the field of higher education and providing employment-oriented education to the youth were discussed in detail by the veterans of this sector at the Education Innovation and Investment Summit recently organized by Entrepreneur India in association with Opportunity India. Most of the experts in this discussion believed that India has the strongest legacy in the field of education in the world. However, during the last few decades, there was stagnation in terms of infrastructure development in the region. But during the last few years, the private sector has opened dozens of universities across the country, which is doing a great job in the field of providing employment-oriented education according to the needs of the present and future.

Kumar Raina and Dr. KNB Murthy, Vice-Chancellor of Dayanand Sagar University were also present. The conference was organised in Bengaluru on Feb 3.
Pooja Goyal, Member of the Founding Community, Plaksha University said that the higher education institutes of the country have had a huge role to play in the stature that India has in the world today and Plaksha University is reimagining the education technology in fundamental ways keeping in mind how the furture of work and life evolving.
Addressing the gathering at the Education, Innovation and investment Summit 2023 in Bangalore, she said, "Plaksha is built on the foundation of collective philanthropy so, successful entrepreneurs, professionals coming out of India are the one who are coming together to solve the problems rather than sitting on the sidelines saying the government should take care of this large problem. These next generation entrepreneurs are fundamentally rethinking education and coming up with university like Plaksha to achieve that goal.
Giving initial comments, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Raina Vice Chancellor, MS Ramaiah University said that the roots of Indian education system are very strong. he said, "When I looked at the education system in USA, it was very flexible but I see a big hope coming out of National Education Policy as it speaks about flexibility, local and gives more skill set to the people whether it is research or education.
"At Ramaiah, I would say that every day there is discussion and deliberation on how we can make the coming students better from the past ones. In that process, we want to create a talent pool for the nation as they are going to serve the global community. Our education policy should be straightforward and should not mingle with words and the best crop is going to come out of it," he added.
Dr. KNB Murthy, Vice-Chancellor, Dayanand Sagar University said, “According to me world class universities are defined as those universities which are at the top in the world. Some of the basic pillars of education are highly qualified faculty, successful students, excellence research, international level quality teaching, high level of fund, and well equipped laboratory.”
Meanwhile, Dr GP Saradhi Verma, VC, KL Deemed to be University said that they are one of the leading universities of South India. The institutes have given basic education to the students.
“Research and skill is the key factor of entrepreneurship. Indian university is changing through the process of enhancing the quality of education. We are truly keeping up with the change and today we are at the top of global education. Our university has all the skill sets of over 8,400 global educations which are almost in India,” Verma added.
This discussion over higher education was held at a conference organised by Entrepreneur India in collaboration with Opportunity India in February in Bengaluru. The session were attended by various industry leaders including Pooja Goyal, Founding Community Member of Plaksha University, Dr. GP Saradhi Verma, Vice Chancellor of KL Deemed to be University, Dr. Kuldeep, Vice Chancellor of Ramaiah University, and Dr. KNB Murthy, Vice-Chancellor of Dayanand Sagar University.
