Oxygen Bar Franchises are cashing in: Turning Delhi’s Pollution to Advantage
An oxygen bar franchise gives you every other reason to invest as it is available in a small investment and promises a great entrepreneurial future ahead.

The seriously falling air quality in Delhi-NCR is making pure air a luxury. And this luxury is being served in a 15-20 min session for a sum of Rs 299-499 in oxygen bars.

The hazy environment of Delhi-NCR regions is creating opportunities for these oxygen bars and they are all up for turning Delhi’s pollution to their advantage. Just in time when Delhi’s pollution is breaking all its past records, brands like ‘Oxy Pure’ and ‘Oxyfresh Wellness’ are cashing in on increased pollution by launching franchises of their oxygen bars. The trend has caught on and customers are willing to spend their money for a 20-minute oxygen-inhaling session. So, how and when did oxygen become such a luxury? Let’s dive deeper into the concept of oxygen bars and seek what franchise prospects are laying in this niche market.

Franchise Prospects of Oxygen Bars

Going by the definition, oxygen bar is an establishment, or part of one, that sells oxygen for recreational use. In layman’s term, an oxygen bar is a place where one can sit relaxed and inhale pure oxygen. This experience in a bar usually lasts from a few minutes to about 20 minutes, the duration of which depends on the consumer’s preference and budget. As already mentioned, these 20-minute oxygen sessions can cost you around Rs 299-499, so more or less, it’s like a luxury for consumers.

Going by the business model of an oxygen bar, it allows an entrepreneur to start a business that can benefit you in a long run. This is because environment is going to one of the biggest concerns in the future and fresh air will have a very strong stance in it. Also, it creates excitement among consumers as paying for inhaling oxygen is a rare scenario in a general context. So, oxygen bars can also be a recreational place, something for which, people will always be willing to pay more.

From a franchisor’s point of view, this business idea is a revenue-generating model. This is because one does not have to invest a lot of money to buy a cannula and an oxygen tank and also do not require much of an investment in arranging infrastructure for the bar. A typical franchise requirement that has been observed to establish a franchise outlet of an oxygen bar goes something like this:

Investment: Rs 10-20 lakhs

Area: 400-4500 sq ft

ROI: 50%

Oxygen Bars: When Oxygen Becomes a Luxury

Delhi’s AQI has worsened beyond limits. There are many reasons as to why the air quality is losing its freshness. On one hand, the after-effects of bursting firecrackers has been blamed, while on the other hand, exhaust from diesel generators, dust from construction sites and stubble burning in the states of Punjab and Haryana are also given a huge credit for this situation. With the AQI level of 501, it is impossible to step out of one’s home without having precautions like air-mask. Clearly, a breath of fresh air is all that Delhites are eagerly looking for.

It is ironic that our precious but rather abundant element oxygen has become something for which, one has to shed their pocket. While the concept of oxygen bar is like sarcasm to the situation, but one cannot deny that it has a great potential, especially in Delhi. ‘Oxy Pure’, an oxygen bar, opened in the month of May this year at Select City Walk, offers pure oxygen in various flavours such as eucalyptus, lavender, vanilla, peppermint, spearmint, lemongrass, cinnamon, orange, cherry among others.

These oxygen bar owners claim that these 20-minute oxygen-inhaling sessions work like magic on those who are suffering from health issues like mental fatigue, sleep disorders, blood pressure and stress, which are some of the biggest problems that the world is facing. So, it is the inception of oxygen bar, which has made inhaling pure oxygen a luxury for many.

Conclusion

As ironic as it is for us to pay for breathing oxygen, one cannot deny that oxygen bars have a great prospect when it comes to creating entrepreneurial opportunities. From a business person’s point of view, a trending business idea that has a bright present and an even brighter future is what matters the most. An oxygen bar franchise gives you every other reason to invest as it is available in a small investment of Rs 10-20 lakhs and promises a great entrepreneurial future ahead.
