Take Note Of The Following Points Before Becoming An Author
Have a flair of writing and considering of becoming an author of a book? Here’s what you should consider before publishing yourself.

A good book has the power to impact a thousand lives. Every writer has once in a while had thought of penning down his experiences into a form a story of a novel. However, writing a book is quite different and tedious task than anything else. You have to be more than just a good writer.

So, if you have a flair of writing and considering becoming an author of a book, keep in mind of the following things.

Research

Writing a book is not an easy task. Conducting thorough research is of utmost importance before dwelling yourself into writing.

Neel Mullick, Author of Dark Blossom, said, “Research goes a long way... Research is essential to understand the characters of your book, their experiences, how they would handle each other’s nuances. Because it one of the most gratifying part and most engaged part while writing a book. Thus, I would say the formula for a successful book is 65% research and 35% writing.”

Decide a Niche

Before starting to write, you need to decide your genre according to the audience you want to cater to. Write to a specific audience, with a specific aim in mind. This will help you while drafting your story and in the selection of tone and words, but will also help you in forming your marketing strategy.

Read as much as you can

Lisa See once quoted, “Read a thousand books, and your words will flow like a river.” Read minimum 3-5 books which are similar to your idea. Find out the best and worst things in the book and take note of them.

Make it Authentic

Virginia Woolf once said, “Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind, is written largely in his works.”

“You have dive deep into your life experiences and into yourself in order to give authenticity to the characters. But you also have to not be so self-centred, because at the end of the day the true purpose of writing a book is to make a powerful impact to a decision or in an emotional way,” stated, Neel.

It is important to consider that you are not writing just for the sake of telling a story, but make it entertaining and indulging for the readers.

Biggest Challenges

Getting the story told right is the biggest challenge in writing a book. You have to be honest to yourself and at the same time objective.

“You have to come from a place of personal authenticity but must have an appeal to a lot of reception, because you can convey your point only when somebody gets it,” commented, Neel.
