Terra Charge Revolutionizing EV Charging with Innovations
Terra Charge,CEO, Akihiro Ueda said, we aim to collaborate with various sectors like fleets, hospitals, and society to create comprehensive solutions for EV charging. Our 2025 strategy includes expanding our charging stations from 500-600. while also strengthening partnerships with both private and government stakeholders.

In today’s era, with the rising popularity of electric vehicles (EVs), innovations in charging technology have become essential. It’s not just about technological advancements but also about integrating it with society, the environment, and business needs. Charging is no longer a standalone process but part of a comprehensive ecosystem.

1.Focus on Ecosystem

The biggest innovation in charging technology is its connection to the larger societal framework. Collaboration and partnerships are now critical for the success of charging infrastructure.

  • Partnership with Fleet Operators: Dedicated charging stations are being developed for fleet vehicles.

  • Engagement with Society and Institutions: Charging infrastructure is being strengthened in collaboration with hospitals, residential societies, and government institutions.

  • Stakeholder Involvement: Partnerships with both private and government sectors are creating a holistic solution for charging.

2.Multi- Power Charging Technology

Charging technology is advancing to support different power ratings (e.g., 30kW, 50kW, 200kW) with a single charger. This innovation caters to all types of vehicles, enabling them to charge at one location.

3.Faster and More Efficient Charging

Continuous improvements in fast charging systems are reducing charging times, especially for highways and long-distance travel outside cities.

4.Use of Renewable Energy

Charging stations are now being integrated with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. This not only benefits the environment but also makes charging more cost-effective and sustainable.

5. Software and Digital Innovations

Digital advancements are simplifying the charging business. Now, anyone can start a charging business through software platforms.

1.Real-Time Monitoring: Monitoring and managing charging stations is now possible in real time.

2.Payment Integration: Digital payment systems are enhancing user experience, making it simpler and faster.

6. Global Expansion

Efforts are underway to expand charging technology beyond India to international markets. This reflects not only technological growth but also an aspiration to position India as a key player in the global EV market.

Akihiro Ueda, CEO of Terra Charge, emphasizes that innovations in charging technology are not just about new products or technologies. Charging, according to him, is part of a larger ecosystem. Therefore, we are working to connect charging with different aspects of society.

By collaborating with fleets, societies, hospitals, and other institutions, they aim to create solutions that benefit the entire community. This comprehensive approach to ecosystem development is the core of their innovation.

Strategies and Plans for 2025

Increasing the Number of Charging Stations: Currently, there are 500 to 600 charging stations. By 2025, the goal is to double or triple this number.

Expanding Industrial Partnerships: Collaborations with more industrial partners and stakeholders, including private sectors and government entities, are part of the plan.

Sales Forecast for Terra Charge in 2024

While specific numbers are difficult to predict, the company aims to achieve near-positive revenue by 2024. Their strategy is built on three main pillars:

1.Selling charging solutions as an OEM.

2.Providing charging services as a CPO.

3.Developing software that allows anyone to start a charging business.

By leveraging these pillars, the company is working toward profitability.

Future Plans

Akihiro further shared that their goal is to establish a complete charging ecosystem involving all stakeholders. Additionally, they plan to take their services beyond India. The priority is to present charging not just as a service but as a comprehensive solution.

Conclusion

Innovations in charging are not limited to new technologies but also aim to connect society, the environment, and business. These changes will not only promote the use of electric vehicles but also make them more sustainable, affordable, and convenient. This holistic approach to the charging ecosystem will pave the way for a new direction in the EV industry in the coming years.
