This Is How IndiGo Is Planning To Expand Internationally
IndiGo has a fleet of more than 200 aircraft and operates over 1,300 daily flights.

The Indian aviation industry is stepping out from being one of the niches to a popular segment for a profitable business opportunity. Earlier it was said that people who are related to the aviation industry make big bucks apart from the airlines.

The aviation industry in India is a challenging eco-system that contains several challenges. The industry is believed to get affected easily by sensitive factors like recession and fuel prices, which make it a nominally profitable industry.

Recently, the country’s largest airline in terms of domestic shares, IndiGo announced its planning for expanding in global territories. The newly appointed CEO of InterGlobe Aviation, Ronojoy Dutta made this confirmation by speaking up with his staffs.

Creating Highways in the Sky

Transportation has always been a medium of connecting one region with another, easing the traveling process. While having many domestic airlines’ flying every day from one city to another, IndiGo has emerged as the country’s largest airline that has a well established domestic network.

Now the idea is to expand internationally by creating highways in the sky after being successful in India.

Ronojoy Dutta, CEO, InterGlobe Aviation says, “IndiGo is playing a critical part in nation building by building highways in the sky.”

Targeting the Supply Chains

In order to expand internationally, it’s very essential to first become successful in the domestic region. IndiGo has successfully achieved the feat where thousands of people choose this airline for traveling regularly across different cities in India.

According to Dutta, one of the best ways to expand internationally is to target the supply chains of goods, capitals, and services that are being run across the country and world.  Thus, Indian supply chains could see a rise in demand as IndiGo plans to target national and international supply chains.

“If India wants to emerge as a major player in these supply chains, it’s time to connect the Indian cities to the worldwide supply chains,” shares Dutta.

Direct Flights to International Countries

IndiGo as an Indian airline brand has emerged successful in ruling the domestic region. But when it’s about global networks, the work is only about to start. According to statistics, foreign carriers carry approximately 61 percent of the people in and out of India as compared to 6 percent domestic carriers.

Contributing towards this statistic, IndiGo has announced its daily direct flight from Delhi to Istanbul that will be starting from 20th March 2019.

With this initiative, number of direct flights are believed to get started, directly connecting international countries and India. In fact, other aviation brands could also be seen introducing some similar initiative in order to sustain and make big in this niche competitive industry.
