Computers were brought to India's statistical institute for the first time. It was in 1953 that the first computer was introduced when most developed countries did not even have computers. After around 7 decades later, computers have now become a very important thing for almost every profession. This means no business can be performed without a computer. Computers now can be seen in almost every household and office. They are used to perform multiple tasks like; data management, calculation, research, data transmission, and many more. Along with the internet, they have become a great source of knowledge, earning and entertainment as well. Students now use them to take online classes and study purposes. Many universities, colleges and even schools have included computers in their courses.

As per IBEF, India has the world’s largest population of about 500 million in the age bracket of 5-24 years, which provides a great opportunity for the education sector. Computer education also has a major share in the Indian education market.

Due to the covid outbreak, the country has become the second-largest market for E-learning after the US. The sector is expected to reach $1.96 billion by 2021 with around 9.5 million users. This online education market is forecasted to reach US$ 11.6 billion by 2026. Resultantly, India has imported over 3 million PCs for the second time in a row. Notebook PCs continue to hold more than three-fourth share in the overall category and grew 49.9% in 2021, reporting a fourth consecutive quarter with over 2 million units. This growing demand for computers made India a hub for computer education.

A Different Perspective

Apart from the paper and numerical values, we still need to practice and expand a lot. Computer education in India sees a lot of variation. City people have high-speed internet and rural area students do not have such things. Bangalore city is called the silicon valley of India(for being an IT hub) while some northeastern part of India has very few access to technology and resources. They still suffer from the lack of resources even if they spend a good amount on computer education. Understanding the value of education, people from rural areas now look for quality education in the computer as well as other sectors. To get equally developed India needs to grow in every field.

Most of the brand and computer education providers in India focus on urban areas. They think urban areas can be a great source of income but the reality is very much different from this. Good earning and brand establishing opportunities lie in rural areas. Due to the lack of modern education in rural communities, it is easier to succeed there as opposed to an area where there is already stiff competition from a number of businesses.
