Here Is What You Need To Know About The New Plan Of CBSE’s Exam Pattern For 2020
According to reports, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to make some major changes in their examination pattern of class 10th & 12th from 2020.

The vocational subject exams are scheduled to take place in February and the main subjects towards the end of March. With the idea to have more time for evaluation, the new question papers will emphasis on student’s analytical thinking and problem-solving skill. Introducing this change, Human Resource Development Minister, Prakash Javadekar’s intention was to help students get rid of rote learning procedure happening in the Indian education industry.

In an event organized by CBSE, Prakash Javadekar addressed, “Education is not about rote learning”, and emphasized the fact that education is the ability to understand and analyze.”

Why revamping the exams pattern?

The prime reason behind this huge step was to free students from rote learning procedure, which had created a home in our education system. It is believed that this change will help students evolve more in terms of knowledge and skills, nurturing them to be a better performer.  

New exam pattern would also test students based on their analytical skills instead of the orthodox process of blind copy-pasting from textbooks. This change claims to enhance the academic results and the quality of educational institutions.

Major changes expected

Some major changes expected to get introduced by 2020 in the CBSE exam are:

  • The question papers will be designed in order to check the problem-solving and analytical thinking of students.
  • Replacement of long answer type questions with short ones ranging from 1 to 5 marks.
  • Early wrapping of boards exams, hence declaring the results earlier than the currently scheduled structure.
