Techno major Sharp launches air purifiers to curb harmful effects of indoor air pollution
Leading name in technology innovation, Sharp Business Systems (India) Limited (SBSIL) has taken an initiative to create awareness among consumers about the indoor air polluted, which is more harmful than outdoors.

Offering Plasma Cluster Ion air purifiers, Sharp Business Systems (India) Limited (SBSIL) has taken an initiative to spread awareness among Indian consumers about indoor air pollution, which is more harmful for the health than outdoor dust and pollutants in the air.

Significantly, the quality of indoor air has become a major concern in recent time. Due to the soaring demand for cleaner air, SBSIL is offering two models of Plasmacluster Ion Air Purifiers; Indoor air treatment units and Car air treatment units, available at the e-store of the brand currently.

Elaborating on the indoor air pollution, Sunil K Sinha, Managing Director & CEO India Region of SBSIL said, “Poor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) could be jeopardizing our health. You probably spend 90 per cent of your time indoors, with pollutant levels 25-100 times higher than the air outside and containing over 1500 substances. Many homes and offices have airborne pollutant levels 25-100 times higher than the air outside. These numbers and statistics are surprising and alarming and hence a wake-up call to what many of us unknowingly assume that the air we breathe is safe.”

Poor air quality has been linked to both short-term and long-term health problems, which may include diseases like Asthma, allergies, and other respiratory problems, headaches, eye and skin irritations, sore throat, colds and flu, memory loss, dizziness, fatigue and depression.

Nevertheless, sometimes indoor air pollution may leads to other health effects from highly toxic airborne particles including heart disease, respiratory disease, reproductive disorders, sterility and even cancer, in the later years.

Meanwhile, talking about the recent innovation, Product Head of SBSIL, Shuvendu Mazumdar commented, “Unlike other air purifiers employing passive method that require the air to pass through a set of filters to clean and recycle the air, SHARP enjoys a competitive edge when it comes to Air Purification Systems as it incorporates an active method that reduces suffocation/ staleness by generating fresh air.”

Plasma Cluster Ion Technology Mimics Nature by generating Positive and Negative Ions which are released into the air, then reaches out to the surface and the corners of the room destroying infection causing germs and irritants like allergy and asthma which may also triggers, e-Coli, Influenza Virus, H1N1, fungi, pollen etc.

This also eliminates bad smell and VOC’s. “Clearly there is a consumer need that is not currently being met. We will use the knowledge gained from consumers to further advance the penetration into this thinly tapped market” he added.

The effectiveness of Plasma Cluster Ion Technology has been proven by more than 22 independent and renowned research organizations across the world. This technology won the Invention award in Japan in 2008 and more than 5crore units have been sold worldwide since then making it truly the next generation Air Purification System.

The Sharp air purifiers are available at the online portal of the brand and other regional retail outlets in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore. The Car version of the air purifier is priced at Rs11,990 while the Room Version is costing Rs 16,990.
