Jetking has laid out the future expansion plan for the next three to five years.

Enthused with the changing landscape of IT industry in the country and the ambitious Government vision of skill India, digital India and the development smart cities, Jetking has laid out the future expansion plan for the next three to five years. Commenting on the same, Avinash Bharwani, Vice-President, Jetking spoke to Franchise India.

What are you future expansion plans through franchising?

In the wave of shaping image of IT industry in the country we are planning to open more 300 to 400 Jetking centres through our own and franchising in the next three to five years. It would be 90:10 ratio for franchising and own.

What will the focus of territories?

Spread across metros and upcoming metros like tier II cities and smart cities with around 3.5 lakh population these centre will be primarily opened in states with IT hub cities. Our centres will be set up across and around these metros and mini metros in likely states of Kerala, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu among others. Hence in Mumbai we are planning to launch 13 more centres. With the varying geographies each of the centres will be spread over minimum 1000- 1200 sq ft in area to maximum 2000-2500 sq ft. For expansion in tier III and IV cities we will be adopting a different model along with tying up with colleges and education institutes.

What will be the investment for per centre?

For each centre the franchisee will have to invest around Rs 25 to 30 lakh.

What is your aim of skill development in IT?

In association with NSDC and NASSCOM we are aiming to contribute to the government’s vision of Skill development, smart cities, digital India with producing technically upgraded workforce.

What will be the enrolment number?

For the 1000-1200 sq ft centres, we are targeting to have around at least 150 to 200 enrolments and for the 2000-2500 sqft of centres, we will be enrolling 400 to 500 students. We are also planning to start one batch every month.

How many courses do you offer in IT?

Currently we are offering more than 20 courses and we are looking forward with SMACK opportunity that is offering course in social, mobile, analytics and cloud computing. Henceforth, we are more focusing on cloud computing platform, online teaching through our own portal. Hence two to three more courses will be introduced in curriculum in next year. 

What is the ratio of placement after the completion of courses?

We are associated with around 15000 IT and around 37 % of our students are placed in top 100 IT companies like IBM, Reliance JIO, Infosys. Out of all around 45 % of our students gets placed in upcoming companies and SME’s. And around 3-4 % of our students go for entrepreneurship. There are 2 to 3 lakh jobs requirement in IT currently on yearly basis.

How about the competition with the institutes offering hardware and networking courses?

Currently there are more regional players offering IT courses but there are not more national institutes offering hardware and networking courses.

What is you annual turnover and the growth percentage YOY?

While growing by 25 % YOY, we have clocked the turnover of Rs 70 cr last fiscal.
